LIAME

liame

li.a.me, Portuguese, masculine noun

That which links, binds or joins one thing to another. E.g.: the liame between the PC and the phone.

A free app that joins your Windows PC and your Android phone: sound, camera, microphone, controls, files and notifications go from one to the other over your own network.

Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and Android 9 or newer. Install it on both.

What changes in your day

Instead of one app for each thing, a single one that connects by itself when both are on the same network or linked by the USB cable.

Hear the PC on the phone

Games, videos and music from the PC on the phone's headphones or speaker. In the Game profile, the delay measured on a Galaxy S25 FE is around 25 ms. The phone's player controls what plays on the PC with the buttons each app accepts: shuffle and repeat on Spotify, back and forward 5 or 10 s on YouTube.

Use the phone as a webcam and microphone

The phone camera shows up as "Liame Camera" in Discord, Zoom, Meet, Teams and OBS, and turns on by itself when an app opens it.

Control the PC from your chair or couch

Mouse, keyboard and a button panel you build yourself: shortcuts, programs, OBS scenes, volume and sequences of actions in one tap.

Copy on one, paste on the other

Text, images, links and files go from one device to the other. In any app, select some text and tap Copy on PC; new photos on the phone can go by themselves to a folder on the PC.

See and answer the phone from the PC

Notifications and calls show up in Windows; you can reply to messages and see the phone screen in a window on the PC.

Read codes straight to the PC

QR codes and barcodes read with the phone camera become text typed wherever the cursor is on the PC.

Install in three steps

  1. On the PC

Open Liame-Setup.exe. It installs only for your user, without asking for administrator rights. If Windows warns that the app is unknown, tap "More info" and "Run anyway".

  2. On the phone

Open Liame-android.apk and allow the installation when Android asks. After that, updates arrive through the PC itself.

  3. Pair once

In the app, tap Pair with this PC and check that the 6-digit code is the same on both screens. From then on, it connects by itself.

Yours, and only yours

No account, no ads and no data collection. What passes between the PC and the phone stays on your network.

After pairing, everything is encrypted (AES-256-GCM), with keys kept by Windows and by Android.

The internet is only used to look for new versions on GitHub, download them when you tap Update, and download the VB-CABLE microphone driver if you ask for it.

Who made it

I'm Junior Rodrigues, creator and developer of Liame. It was born from the wish to bring into one app what I did every day with several apps to link the PC to the phone.

The ideas came from apps I used: KDE Connect, Deckboard, ODeck, VCamdroid, Termux:API and scrcpy. Liame is not affiliated with any of them.

The project was developed with the help of Claude, Anthropic's AI.
